Cannabis for Fido?

L.A. Vet is making headlines for wanting to treat pets with cannabis.

The media recently revealed a new poll stating that the majority of Americans think marijuana should be legalized. Now, a veterinarian from, where else but California (Los Angeles to be exact), wants marijuana legalized for pets.

He got the idea from an “eccentric” but intelligent client who wanted to treat her dog with medical cannabis. Dr. Doug Kramer was the only vet to take her seriously as the others quickly dismissed it. Because of the medicinal benefits to humans, Dr. Kramer thought her idea was logical and took the time to listen to her. He now is a firm believer in treating pets, especially cats, to treat chronic conditions and enhance appetite.

He states blowing pot smoke in your dogs face is not a good idea and in fact cruel and  cannabis consumption should never be from smoke or eating the actual flowers.

His preferred method of ingestion is a “glycerin tincture” although he does mention edibles such as homemade dog biscuits infused with cannabis.

If it works on humans why not use it to treat other living things? Can’t find a cure for Fido – try marijuana!
