The legislation from Democratic Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco would have monitored the production and sale of medical marijuana through the state’s alcohol enforcement department. Today Los Angeles decides how medical marijuana will be regulated from here on out. Yesterday the California Senate passed a bill basically stating that medical marijuana dispensaries cannot operate at a profit, but that they can take reasonable compensation and reimbursement for expenses.
